Sangkhlaburi, Thailand.

In this lakeside village near the Myanmar border, surrounded by jungle, flowing rivers and mountains, there is sadness behind the beauty. This area is home to refugees fleeing war, forced labor and poverty right across the border.

Baan Unrak is an NGO whose mission is to protect, raise and support children who suffered severe traumas and abuses. In the “Home of Joy”, these children can thrive, growing up together in a sharing environment, learning the universal values of love and care for all beings. Now they can play freely in harmony with nature, living wild adventures in the wonderful surroundings.

The children cultivate kindness and gratefulness, perform daily duties at the Home, and through yoga, find inner peace and serenity.

The project photographs ultimately aim to celebrate childhood, in a dreamy and timeless way.
